BCCMCW - Beccles medieval coarseware
Common fine sub-angular quartz sand (mainly white, some cream and grey), sparse mica, sparse coarse sub-rounded ferrous sandstone and dark grey ?mudstone (both up to 2mm), abundant very fine black particles (glauconite?) visible microscopically. Dark grey or blue-grey surfaces with paler grey or white core, hard. Some sherds contain streaks and lenses of white clay visible in section only.
